Because apparently Europeans think that Lincoln sucks.

I want a goddamned Fusion wagon

I'm thinking Americans think the same way based on sales numbers.

Largely due, I think, to the terrible products. The new MKZ is selling in similar numbers to the Cadillac XTS, but that's the only good car Lincoln has. (I know it's a Fusion, but the majority of Lincoln buyers won't know or care.)

What the hell kind of word is Vignale?
Besides that, I would buy that upscale Fusion wagon, it looks fantastic.

Not liking the quilted leather...I'm convinced Audi is the only one doing it right in the S6/7. Not liking the chrome either.
But Fusion wagon, or god damned any wagon = WANTWANTWANT.

I'd rather have the cool Vignale Fusion than the odd MKZ with the Bangle Butt.

...Bangle butt??? The rear end is the best part of the new MKZ.

It is the name of a dead Italian coachbuilder , Ford thinks that it sounds expensive or something.

But that's so Bentley-ish.

My God, that wagon! Yow!

Exactly, the S6 is a refined, yet immensely beastlike in terms of speed. Just like the Bentley. Still, the interior is...idk, really aggressive in some ways; the Carbon Atlas inlays matched with the black quilted leather looks and feels perfect.
I think Chris Harris actually did a /drive thing where he compared Audi S4 to Bentley...

I'm sorry Ford, but you just cannot do premium interiors. I'm prety sure this'll suck balls just as all the others did. Stop trying.
Also, whoever will pay a-little-bit-higher-than-basic-320d money for a Mondeo Vignale is crazy. The current Mondeo can get pretty steep if you go heavy on the engine and option lists, and this i bet will be over and above the current top of the line.

Black on black should make it even better.

To be fair, I think most Europeans would just wonder why they named a car after a Steven Spielberg movie.
What I wonder about is why Ford thinks that naming a trim level for a storied Italian coach builder is going to work out any better this time around.

Gahh, every time I hear about the Ford Escort, a ton of sex workers jokes fly into my mind.

Refined Bangle Butt, however still awkward.

It's not that we don't like Lincoln. They never sold a single Lincoln on our shores, so they would have to intruduce a whole new brand to the market which usually takes 15-20 years. Introducing new trim levels is cheaper and easier, especially if they aren't planning on bringing new cars.
This vignale thing reminds me of thew Ghia badges top spec Fords had until the late 90s.

But people know that Lincoln is made by Ford, is not like some totally unknown Chinese or Indian automaker tries to sell cars to snobbish EU folks.

I know it, you know it. My mum, my dad, their friends, 99% of their target customers don't. Trust me, it would be like introducing a new brand. It took 20 years for Kia/Hyundai to get the stain of "cheap Korean shitbox" off their cars. And GM doesn't even comprehend how deep a hole they are digging for themselves with their Korean shitboxes branded as Chevies, but without real halo models.
